Shirley A. Hruska, 73, Barnum, died Friday, October 5, 2018 at her home.  She was born on January 28, 1945 to Fred and Freda Dahms in Madison, SD where she lived prior to moving to Duluth.  She later moved to Barnum where continued school graduating from Barnum High School in 1963.  She worked at A & E in Duluth, Duesler's Coffee Shop in Barnum, and Lampert's in Barnum.  On November 23, 1968, Shirley married Stephen Hruska in Duluth.  They lived in Barnum  where she worked at Solheim's Hardware until 1993.  She liked camping, fishing, gardening, and needlework.  Shirley loved her grandchildren.  She was a great mom whom was feisty and fun and will be remembered for being a hard worker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen in 1996; her parents: Fred and Freda Dahms; sister: Leila Duncan; and a brother: Fred "Fritz" Dahms.

Shirley will be lovingly remembered by her two daughters: Brenda (Marty) Ingram of Barnum and Carey Hruska of Cloquet; three grandchildren: Cody Anderson, Catey Anderson, and Connor Ingram; two great grandchildren: Elliot Anderson and Janessa DeFoe; two sisters: Janet (Darrell) Ramberg of Harris and Karen (Butch) Wekseth of Sauk Rapids; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation will be from 10 am until the 11 am funeral service on Friday, October 12, 2018 in Hamlin-Hansen-Kosloski Funeral Home, Moose Lake.  Burial will be in Elim Cemetery, Blackhoof Twp.
