Shirley Kay Springer, 46, of Kettle River, died March 27, 2011 at her home. She was born June 22, 1964 in Moose Lake to John and Hilda (Westerberg) Lafrenz. Shirley was united in marriage to James Springer on June 21, 2003 in Moose Lake. Shirley was employed at Alco of Moose Lake as an Operations Supervisor. She enjoyed puzzles, animals, fishing, reading, camping, farming and especially spending time with her children, grandbaby and husband.

Shirley is preceded in death by her mother, Hilda "Tillie".

Shirley is survived by her husband, James of Kettle River; 2 sons, D.J. (Erica) Sandberg of Sturgeon Lake and Justin Lipponen of Kettle River; 1 daughter, Kristin Lipponen of Kettle River; 1 granddaughter, Miah Sandberg; her father, John Lafrenz of Menomonie, WI; brother, Walt (Shirley) Westerberg of Barnum; 3 sisters, Rosie (Gary) Lingle of Moose Lake, Dianne (Dennis) Piilola of Moose Lake and Lori (Joe) Broker of Colfax, WI; many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was Thursday, March 31, 2011 from 10 AM until the 11 AM service in Evangelical Covenant Church, Moose Lake. Interment was in Sunset Memorial Cemetery, Moose Lake.
