Sophie Genevieve Granda, of Sturgeon Lake, formerly of Duluth, died Monday April 25, 2011 in Hermantown surrounded by her family. She was born February 7, 1920 in Duluth to Stanley and Sarah (Kadun) Krasinski. Sophie was united in marriage to Ernest J. Granda on October 30, 1943 in Sturgeon Lake. Sophie was employed at Oneida Realty of Duluth for 29 years before retiring with Ernest to Sturgeon Lake. Sophie was a member of St. Isidore's Catholic Church, Sturgeon Lake. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, watching the birds and deer and especially watching her great grandkids in sports. Sophie enjoyed life.

Sophie is preceded in death by her husband, Ernest; her parents; 1 brother, Alex.

Sophie is survived by 2 daughters, Mary Ann (Bob) Leppala of Duluth and Marlene (Ed) Sink of Hermantown; 3 grandchildren, Ken (Angie) Sink, Kim (Dan) Nelson and Kristin Collelo; great grandchildren, Tabitha, Courtney, Kaitlyn, Kristopher and Taylor; many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.

Visitation was Friday, April 29, from 10 AM until the 11 AM Mass of Christian Burial in St. Isidore's Catholic Church, Sturgeon Lake. Interment was in the Polish Catholic Cemetery, Duluth.
