Stanley Greski, Jr., 97, Moose Lake, died peacefully on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 in Augustana Mercy Health Care Center, Moose Lake. He was born on June 13, 1924 in Split Rock Twp. to Stanley and Helena Greski, Sr. He attended Wilson School in Split Rock Twp. and later lived in Denham. Stanley was a proud United States Navy Veteran serving in WWII. After being honorably discharged in 1945, Stanley farmed, worked at the Sturgeon Lake Sawmill, and Soo Line Railroad. On December 15, 1947, Stanley married Sharon Wickizer in Long Beach, CA. They lived in Denham where they farmed and Stanley worked for the State of Minnesota at General Andrews Nursery servicing all the equipment and driving semi-truck. He also drove Ed Anderson's school bus for the Willow River School. In 1990, Stanley retired and continued farming until 2012. They moved to Moose Lake and were members of the West Side Church where he helped with the building projects. He was an avid deer hunter.
Stanley is preceded in death by a son: Robert Stanley Greski and 18 brothers and sisters.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 73 years, Sharon; 6 children: Shirly (Terry) Suneson; Jean Greski; Doris (Denny) Burt; Betsy (Glen) Fiksdal; Jim (Jinx) Greski; and Ron (Liz) Greski; 11 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 2 sisters: Pauline Payzant and Verna Martichuski; and numerous niece, nephews, and friends.
