Obituary

Stella Marie (Price) Mach, 90, of Sturgeon Lake, died peacefully at home on May 4, 2012, after a stroke in January. She was born September 15, 1921 in Willow River to Guy and Doris (Zywicki) Price. Stella took on the role of mother to nine siblings at the tender age of 14, when her mother died and continued this role throughout the years to many other children. Stella lived in the Bruno and Willow River areas before moving to her current home in Sturgeon Lake 58 years ago. Stella married Edward Mach on November 4, 1939. They raised their nine children on their dairy farm in Sturgeon Lake. She was a faithful member of St. Isidore's Catholic Church. Stella was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and sister. Stella enjoyed baking, cooking, gardening, crossword puzzles and most of all, spending time with her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Stella is preceded in death by her husband, Edward in 1998; grandchild Paul Jacobson; son-in-law Howard Anderson; parents Casimir (Guy) Price and Dominica (Doris) Zywicki; 12 siblings Anna, Helen, Leona, Frank, Daniel, Stanley, Ernest, Raphael, Florian, Leo, William and baby girl.

Stella is survived by 9 children: Constance Anderson, Dorothy (Lyle) Knutsen, Janet Jacobson, Arlene (James) Barnhart, James (Mary Jean) Mach, Karen (Scott) Sandstrom, Tim Mach, John (Rebecca) Mach and Kathy (Mark Hurd) Mach; 30 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren; 5 siblings Frances Hyska, Irene Peters, Bernice (William) Scott, Mary Ann Blaser, Martin (Regina)Price; sister-in-law Betty (Gordon) Brandt; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 10, from 6-8 pm with a Rosary Service at 7:30 pm in Hamlin-Hansen-Kosloski Funeral Home, Moose Lake and will continue Friday, May 11 from 9 AM until the 10 AM Mass of Christian Burial in St. Isidore's Catholic Church, Sturgeon Lake.
