Steven "Cookie" Cook, Sr.

Steven "Cookie" Cook, Sr., 50, Sturgeon Lake, ran home to be with his Lord on Monday, August 2, 2010. He was born on December 24, 1959 to Frank and Frances Cook in Missouri. Steven lived throughout the United States as a child while being raised by his Mother whom was a Combat Medic and Nurse in the United States Army. After serving in United States Army following high school, Steven went to Hawaii where he met the love of his life and best friend, his wife, Stephanie. On December 18, 1981, Steven married Stephanie Laguisan in Honolulu. They moved to Missouri and Steven worked for the Department of Corrections until moving to Wisconsin. In 1984, Steven began working for the Department of Corrections at the Minnesota Correctional Facility - Stillwater. Steven moved to Willow River with his family in 1993 and transferred to the Minnesota Correctional Facility - Moose Lake. In 1996, he transferred to the Challenge Incarceration Program in Willow River where he worked until recently transferring back to the MCF – Moose Lake.

Steven's ultimate passion in his life was Jesus and serving the Lord and because of that passion he was extremely passionate about everything in life. He loved running, Texas hold'em, Green Bay Packers, Mizzou Tigers, playing basketball, and Jeeps.

Steven was preceded in death by his Grandma: Lucille Reeves; Grandpa: Harry Cook; two brothers: Gary Cook and Delbert Cook; Great Grandmother Cowley; Grandma Dorothy Henderson; Grandpa James Henderson; Grandpa George Buxton; and an Uncle: Robert E. Lee.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 28 years: Stephanie;

two children: Antoinette Rodrigues-Cook of Sturgeon Lake and Steven (Brittany) Cook, Jr. of Dixon, MO; his soon to be expected Grandson: Korbyn William Cook; his Mother: Frances Cook of Dixon, MO; his Father: Frank (Marcia) Cook of Fredricktown, MO; six siblings: Gayla (Brian) Cox; Greg (Kim) Cook; Brian (April) Cook; Carla (Tim) Miller; Karry (Mike) Sikes; and Dawn (Shannon) Heidebur all of Missouri; and numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Visitation was from Noon until the 2 PM service on Saturday, August 7, 2010 in West Side Church, 4496 Walczak Rd., Kettle River. Burial was in West Side Cemetery. To sign the guestbook online, go to www.hhkfuneralhome.com.
