Sylvia Larson

Sylvia Larson, 97, Blaine, formerly of Sturgeon Lake, passed away Monday, July 23, 2018 with family by her side at the Landings of Blaine, Assisted Living Facility.  She was born on September 18, 1920 in Bremen Twp., to Joseph and Mary Mach where she was raised and attended country school.  At the age of 16, she went to Minneapolis and worked as a housekeeper.  On February 24, 1940, she married Iver Larson in Moose Lake.  They lived in Birch Creek Twp., where they were dairy farmers for 40 years.  Sylvia was a member of the WFLA Bohemian Lodge for over 75 years.  She was a member of the Pine County Homemaker's Club where she had arranged several bus trips for the group throughout the years.  Sylvia was a member of Faith Lutheran Church where she was involved in the Altar Guild and LCW.  She made many rugs on her loom over the years.  In 1996, Sylvia moved to the Twin Cities area to be closer to family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Iver in 1995; two brothers; Longin Mach, Joseph Mach, two sisters; Emma Mack, Blanche Thomson, and a son-in-law: Ellis Whiting.

Sylvia will be lovingly remembered by her two daughters: Nancy (Michael) Sedor of Loveland, CO and Carmen Whiting of Blaine; five grandchildren: Todd (Bonnie) Sedor Sr., Renae Sedor-Peterson, Stephen (Joy) Whiting, Kimberly (Jeffery) Johnson, and Rebecca (Steven) Yaglowski; seven great grandchildren: Todd Sedor, Jr., Colten Peterson, Charis Whiting, Emily Johnson, Alec Johnson, Hannah Yaglowski, Samuel Yaglowski; two great-great grandchildren: Todd Sedor III and Cassidy Sedor.

Visitation will be from 10 am until the service at 11 am on Friday, July 27, 2018 at Faith Lutheran Church, Sturgeon Lake.  Burial will be at Faith Lutheran Cemetery, Birch Creek Twp. Memorials preferred in lieu of flowers.
