Valerie Em (Bauer) Johnson, 65, of Sturgeon Lake, formerly of Bartow, FL, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, September 29, 2016. She was born September 21, 1951 to Marvin and Joanna (Ferber) Bauer in St Paul. Valerie grew up in the St Paul Park/ Newport area and was a graduate of Park HI. After graduating from high school, she attended Winona State University. Valerie lived in Central Florida for 30 years until moving back to Minnesota in 2005. Valerie was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Moose Lake.

Valerie is preceded in death by her parents.

Valerie is survived by her son, Erik Johnson of Stafford, VA and her daughter, Emily (Scott) Corder of Tampa, FL; 4 grandchildren, Erikah Johnson, Jacob Pyatt, Margaret and David Corder.
Val was number six of seven Bauer girls and is survived by her sisters, Jacquelyn White, Marlene (Richard) Kuhn, Jeannette (Thomas) Meszaros, Rosalyn Flynn, Beatrice Bauer (Art Klein) and Lorena (John) Phelps; many nieces and nephews.

A gathering of family and friends will be Friday, October 7, from Noon until the 1 PM Memorial Service in St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Moose Lake.
