Vera Hayes, 83, Moose Lake, died peacefully on Wednesday, January 25, 2017.  She was born on December 22, 1933 in Barnum to Elwin and Edna Couillard.  Vera grew up in Moose Lake and attended Moose Lake High School.  On May 16, 1952, Vera married Leonard Hayes in the Moose Lake United Methodist Church.  Vera was very passionate about teaching ceramics through the years in Moose Lake and taught Girl Scouts.   She also worked for several years as a teller at the Moose Lake Federal Credit Union.  Vera was a member of the Moose Lake United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women, and Eastern Star.  Vera enjoyed gardening, birds, cats, puzzles, crossword puzzles, and especially loved her grandchildren.

Vera was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard; son: Michael; daughter: Bonnie Furey; and granddaughter: Jessica Hayes.

She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter: Susan (Bernard) Oetterer of Moose Lake; 6 grandchildren: Jason Furey, Lena (Jason) Koecher, Zach (Sierra) Hayes, Aaron (Courtney) Oetterer, Nicholas (Calley) Oetterer, and Jacob (Kristin) Oetterer; 18 great grandchildren; and many friends.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 am on Monday, January 30, 2017 in Moose Lake United Methodist Church, Moose Lake.  Spring inurnment will be in Sunset Memorial Cemetery, Moose Lake.
