Violet E. Isaacson

Violet E. Isaacson, 76, Papillion, NE, formerly of Kettle River and Moose Lake, died on Friday, October 29, 2010 after losing her battle to breast cancer and suffering complications from Alzheimers. She was born on January 19, 1934 in Arthyde to Jacob and Florence Hatanpaa. Violet attended Moose Lake High School graduating in 1952. While in high school, Violet worked as a waitress for the New Way Inn in Moose Lake. She later worked for Blacklock Law Firm in Moose Lake. On September 26, 1953, Violet married Waino Isaacson in Kettle River where they lived through the years. Violet and Waino farmed and ran a logging business from 1953 until 1982. In 1982, Violet worked as a cook at the Eagle Lake Group Home until 1994. In 1998, Violet moved to Moose Lake where she resided until moving to Nebraska in 2008. She was an active member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church and its Mission Group and Quilting Group, the Kettle River American Legion Auxiliary, Birthday Club, Snowmobile Club, and was also a 4-H Club Leader. Violet also loved to volunteer as a food server for funerals at Thanksgiving! Lutheran Church in Papillion, NE. She loved gardening, fishing, camping, snowmobiling, sewing, quilting, cooking, baking bread, and reading.

Violet was preceded in death by her husband, Waino in 2003.

She will be lovingly remembered by her four children: Lorraine (Jeff) Robertson of Duluth; Diane (Tod) Kunschke of Papillion, NE; Cindy (Bill) Luukkonen of Chantilly, VA; and Gene (Patricia) Isaacson of Santa Maria, CA; 11 Grandchildren: Michelle Benvie, Suzanne Robertson, Eric Kunschke, Jennifer Kunschke, Cassie Luukkonen, Kyle Luukkonen, Lucas Isaacson, Talia Isaacson, Caleb Isaacson, Elizabeth Rybin, and Adam Rybin; 6 Great Grandchildren: James Benvie, Rebecca Benvie, Vasseon Robertson, Mikayla Robertson, Vivian Kunschke, and Axton Rybin; a brother: Jacob (Barbara) Hatanpaa; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Blessed be the Memory of Violet E. Isaacson.

Visitation was on Monday, November 8, 2010 from 10 until the 11 AM funeral service in Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Kettle River with Pastor Paul Reiff officiating. Burial was in Holy Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Kettle River.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Alzheimer's Association in Violet's memory.
