Degerstrom
June 12, 1945 – August 6, 2019
Virginia "Ginny" Lee Degerstrom, age 74, resident of Moose Lake, MN was reunited in Heaven with her husband, Darrell, on Tuesday, August 6 th , 2019 in Bayshore Residence and Rehabilitation Center, Duluth. She was born in South Range, WI on June 12 th , 1945 to Arvid and Rose (Senn) Nasvall. Ginny graduated from Northwestern High School of Maple, WI in 1963. Shortly after, in 1964, she obtained her LPN nursing certification from the State Hospital in Moose Lake. While studying there, she met Darrell Degerstrom. They were married on August 7 th , 1965 in Moose Lake. Together, they purchased a farm in Moose Lake where they spent the rest of their married lives together, raising cows, horses, and three boys: Thomas, Ryan, and Sean. She worked most of her life as a nurse at the State Hospital, Mercy Hospital, and the nursing home in Moose Lake. Ginny loved the outdoors and taking care of her flower beds. In her free time, she enjoyed reading. Ginny's true passion in life was for horses. Despite overwhelming health obstacles over the past 25 years, she remained strong and taught us all a lesson in strength.
Ginny is preceded in death by her loving husband, Darrell Degerstrom; parents, Arvid and Rose; grandson, Benton Degerstrom; brother, Sonny; and sister, Kathy.
She will be greatly missed by her sons, Thomas (Terry) Degerstrom of Cotati, CA, Ryan (Letty) Degerstrom of Ashland, WI, and Sean (Amy) Degerstrom of St. Cloud, MN; grandchildren, Ross (Katie), Jesse, ZhaoBing, Elise, Tyson, Brooklynne, Zoey, and Maxwell Degerstrom, and Christian Frank; great-granddaughter, Harper Ann; sisters, Ethel Azevedo of Las Vegas, NV and Dolly Edquist of Foxboro, WI; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be from 10 am until the 11 am Memorial Service on Monday, August 12, 2019 in Church of Victory, 68479 Beaver Tail Road, Askov.
Arrangements are with Hamlin-Hansen-Kosloski Funeral Home, Moose Lake.
