Wanda Skog

Wanda Skog, 91, Moose Lake, died peacefully on Monday, December 24, 2012 in Mercy Hospital, Moose Lake. She was born to John and Theresa Gresczyk on January 22, 1921 in Split Rock Twp., Carlton County where she grew up and attended school. Wanda worked in Duluth and returned to Split Rock Twp. and later Barnum. On August 1, 1964, Wanda married Mauritz "Morris" Skog in Moose Lake. They lived in Windemere Twp. until 2001 when they moved to Moose Lake. Wanda was a homemaker through the years and was also member of the Moose Lake Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Mauritz on March 11, 2007; a son: Robert Zelazny; a daughter: Adeline Hirdler; a granddaughter: Tracy Lind; 3 sisters: Bernice Klosowski, Irene Henniger, and Frances Erickson; 3 brothers: Bruno Gresczyk, Julius Gresczyk, and Florian Gresczyk.

Wanda will be lovingly remembered by her 3 children: Joe Zelazny of Palmer, AK; Ed (Linda) Zelazny of Sturgeon Lake; and Richard (Gina) Finley of Mora; 17 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

A memorial service will be on Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at 2 PM in the Moose Lake Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. Darren Renschler will preside.
