Wilbur Lawrence Koecher, age 84, proud resident of Kerrick, MN died on Thursday, May 23 ^rd , 2019 at Mercy Hospital in Moose Lake with his family at his side. He was born on June 17 ^th , 1934 in North Branch Township, MN to Lawrence and Minnie Koecher.

Wilbur attended grade school until the 8 ^th grade in Duquette and later graduated from Moose Lake High School. During the summer of 1957, Wilbur met a young lady by the name of Donna Fisher while attending a dance at the Duquette Dance Hall. Shortly after they met, he was drafted in to the United States Army, serving our country honorably until 1959. Wilbur returned home to Donna and they became married on June 10 ^th , 1961 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Askov. Wilbur was a dairy farmer at heart and had a passion for what he spent his life doing. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, hunting, taking care of his chickens, playing cards, telling stories, and tapping maple syrup.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Minnie; and his daughter, Lisa.

Wilbur will be dearly missed by his wife of 57 years, Donna Koecher; son, Neil Koecher; daughters, Brenda (John) Ledin, Nancy (Skip) Christenson, and Michele (Adam) Hammitt; sister, Marietta Lemmerman; grandchildren, Miranda (Eric) Zwiefelhofer, Alyssa (Cole) Skoog, Aron, Kalli, and Josh Ledin; and many nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 29 ^th , 2019 from 10am until the 11am funeral service at Oak Lake Lutheran Church. Pastor Nathan Anderson will officiate. Burial will follow in the Oak Lake Community Cemetery.
