Obituary

William "Bill" Carr, 78, Bruno, died peacefully on Tuesday, July 26, 2022 surrounded by his caring family.

Bill was one of the most amazing, funny, loving, humorous, stubborn, anal, and extremely family oriented humans the world has ever known. He made "analitity" a self-proclaimed word. There is, and never will be, another like him.

Survived by sons, Shane (Payshence) and Chad (Nina); daughter, Stephanie; brothers, Jeff (Mary), Jim (Dolly), and Rick (Doug); sister, Debbie (Tom); grandchildren, Seth (Gem), Ivy, Ethan, Hope, and Hannah; many nieces and nephews, family, and friends.

Bill was the favorite of so many people. He was a father and a friend that said two things when you needed help: what do you need? and how can I help you? He was powerfully stubborn but equally sweet. Despite the challenges he had in his own upbringing, he tried his best to care for those that were important to him. He made dad jokes seem like a lifestyle. Bill was the only person you could visit Japan with that would choose Outback Steakhouse for a Japanese dinner in Tokyo. Bill did everything on his own and became a self-made handyman. He was a lover of doing any and all projects and never missed an opportunity to help out, no matter how big or small the project was. Bill was a man who never sat still unless he was sleeping. He was a hardworking man his entire life, whether it was his career with Texaco, building houses, time served in the Marine Corps, or helping others; his integrity was always topnotch.

He moved to Minnesota from Missouri to be with his mom when she was sick so that he could help take care of her during her last months. During that time he also took care of his sister, Debbie, just by being himself and bringing so much laughter in an otherwise stressful and sad time. Bill and his brother-in-law, Tom, were basically jokester soulmates (we never knew there was such a thing until those two got to know each other). He loved his family and spent much of his time with them, but when there were kids involved, that's where you could always find Bill - playing with them and entertaining them with his silliness and antics. He was so good at making them feel important and always made sure they had a good time. We suspect it's because he fit right in with them.

To know him is to love him because he was the very best dad, brother, son, uncle, cousin, and friend. He will leave a tremendous hole in our hearts that can never be filled.

Bill was the sweetest man that never knew how sweet he truly was.

Bill, in his stubbornness, was adamant that we didn't plan a funeral. He'd rather we have a party to celebrate him with laughter and love, and we wholeheartedly agree because that is who Bill was. Since it's a party, wear something comfortable and fun rather than dark and dreary. Please join us in celebrating everyone's favorite guy on Saturday, August 6, 2022 from 2pm - 5 pm with Memorials at 4 pm at the Forest Lake American Legion, 355 W. Broadway Ave., Forest Lake, MN 55025.  Lunch will be served.
