William "Bill" Hardie, 80, of Sturgeon Lake, died Thursday, March 22, 2012 in Mercy Hospital, Moose Lake. He was born April 26, 1931 in Minneapolis to Walter and Esther (Strom) Hardie. Bill was Army Veteran who served in the Korean Conflict. Bill was united in marriage to Lynn Smedberg on August 3, 1986 in Las Vegas, NV. He was a longtime employee of Honeywell and a member of VFW Post #425 of Hopkins. Bill enjoyed football, hockey, basketball and tennis.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Robert and Walter; 1 sister, Margaret Latham.

Bill is survived by his wife, Lynn Hardie of Sturgeon Lake; 3 daughters, Kimberly Pontius of Seattle, WA, Brenda Barrs of Minneapolis and Sandy Carnes of Anoka; grandchildren, Alec, Abby, Courtney and Andrew; many nieces and nephews.
