William Raymond Horvat

William Raymond Horvat, 43, Moose Lake, died peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family of caretakers.  He was born on May 1, 1974 in Leavenworth, Kansas to George and Judy Horvat.  He grew up in several cities throughout the United States as he moved with his parents as they worked for the Federal Prison System. While growing up, William attained the ranking of an Eagle Scout.  He attended Firefighter and EMT School.  William had worked in the corrections field in Texas and Florida, a massage therapist in Florida, cell company in Vegas and Alaska, and as a Xerox Repairman.  He also changed many lives of children while working as a guide and counselor for Outward Bound in Florida.  William loved motorcycles, canoeing, kayaking, and being a follower of Jesus!  He attended the Evangelical Covenant Church in Moose Lake.

He was preceded in death by his father: George Horvat; sisters: Cindy and Shari; brother: Kevin; and grandparents: George & Laura Horvat and Raymond & Jeri Wall.

William will be lovingly remembered by his Mom, Judy; 6 siblings: Theresa (Gerald) Carr of Duluth; Michael (Deanna) Horvat of Thornton, CO; Christine (Steven) Wipson of Moose Lake; Michelle Horvat of Moose Lake; Anne (Nathaniel) Welte of Perham; and Stephen (Elizabeth) Horvat of Hamden, CT; adopted brothers in Florida: Jeramie, Brian, Joey, Nick, Furat, Stan, and Chris; and his very, very special nieces and nephews: Julia Carr, Clare Carr, John Carr,  Dominic Carr; Susan Horvat, Bryan Horvat, Dan Horvat, Blake Horvat, Sydney Wipson, Grace Wipson, Emily Welte, and Alex Welte.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be from 10 am until the 11 am Memorial Service on Friday, March 16, 2018 in the Evangelical Covenant Church, Moose Lake.
