William "Bill" John Golen, 65, of Rutledge, formerly of Proctor, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, July 22, 2017 at his home.  He was born January 16, 1952 in Duluth to Leonard and Margaret (McGovern) Golen.  Bill graduated from St. Rose Catholic School in Duluth.  Bill was united in marriage to Nancy Wilhelm on July 30, 1976 in Pike Lake.  Bill was a custodial engineer for the Duluth School System and later became a Pastor.  Bill loved music, science and he especially loved spending time with his family.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Leonard "Larry" Golen.

Bill is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Golen of Rutledge; 3 sons, Japheth (Josie) Golen of Sandstone, Joshua (Kelly) Golen of Rutledge and Samuel (Carol) Golen of Esko; grandchildren, Jocelyn, Abbigail, Lillie, Caleb, Julie, Caden, Savannah, Samuel and Lucy; brother, Lonnie (Nancy) Golen of Saginaw; sister, Charlene (Mike) Leavitt of Esko; many nieces and nephews.
