William Daniel Widman, Jr., 65 of Sturgeon Lake, died Tuesday, June 23, 2009 in Mercy Hospital, Moose Lake. He was born July 24, 1943 in Brainerd to William and Violet (Cole) Widman, Sr. Bill was united in marriage to Ina Jean Michener on January 25, 1964 in Sioux City, IA. Bill is a Navy Veteran, serving in the Vietnam War. Bill was a truck driver for Gordon's Transport as well as ABF Freight Systems. He enjoyed motorcycling, boating, snowmobiling and especially spending time with his family. Bill was a member of Family Worship Church of Moose Lake.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents.

Bill is survived by his loving wife, Ina of Sturgeon Lake; son, Michael (Erin) Widman of Rochester; daughter, Cheryl (Jeffrey) Kargel of Stillwater; brother, Paul (Faith) Widman of Backus; sister, Alice (Merlin) Widman-Kallinen of Silver Bay; grandchildren, Joseph Kargel, Caleb Kargel, Michael Widman, Jr. and Burke Widman; nieces and nephews, Edwin Kallinen, Laura Bailey, Kevin Kallinen, Jeffrey Widman and Jacki Widman.

A gathering of family and friends was held on Monday, June 29, from Noon until the 1 PM Memorial Service in Family Worship Church, Moose Lake. Inurnment was done on Tuesday, June 30, 1:00 P.M. at Assembly Area #2 in Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis. Memorials preferred in lieu of flowers.
